Thanks to Hermes’ Spring/Summer 2010 advertising campaign I just want to lay on a beach in an exoctic country and dream like Karlie Kloss. There’s something luxurious and relaxing about the campaign – that’s helped by the fact that Kloss isn’t gazing down the camera down in one of her usual staring-contest looks (which was surprisingly missing from her Dior ads too).
Though the campaign photographed by Paolo Roversi has many commenting that it’s not a exactly an original idea, in similar fashion Versace had the likes of Naomi Campbell and other supermodels piled on or under Versace covered mattresses. Photographed by the great Richard Avedon in 1996, when you compare the two images the concept is definitely strikingly similar.
