There are some new funny men in Hollywoord, taking over from names like Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, Jack Black and Will Ferrell have long had a hold over. Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Jonah Hill and Jason Segel appear in the April 2009 issue of Vanity Fair spoofing a March 2006 cover featuring a suited up Tom Ford with nude Keira Knightley and Scarlett Johansson (Rachel McAdams was reportedly suppose to join them, but balked at posing nude).
According to the Vanity Fair website, the photograph of Rudd in a black suit while the other three men wear flesh tone body suits, was taken by Annie Leibovitz (who shot the original March 2006 cover) as a tribute to her well known shot.
“What an honor it was being on the Vanity Fair cover. I was a little uncomfortable doing the Tom Ford spoof, ” Jason Segal said. “The only person more uncomfortable was my personal trainer.”
“People have always said I’m the Scarlett Johansson of comedy. Always,” Jonah Hill joked.
What do you think of the image?
I wish the spoof was used as the cover shot and not in an editorial spread inside the magazine – and Segal’s curves have nothing on Johansson’s!
