The Spring 2007 Burberry advertising campaign features the Burberry family again. The campaign staring Kate Moss for the 10th time will debut in magazines from their February issues and will also feature Stella Tennant, Sophie Dahl, Lilly Donaldson and Georgia Frost. And that’s only some of the beautiful women.
According to the UK Vogue website it also features:
There’s Jeremy Irons’ son Max, Richard Branson’s son Sam, Keith Richards’ children Theodora, Alexandra and Marlon, and Bryan Ferry’s sons Otis and Isaac Ferry. British models Danny Beauchamp and Ben Jackson have joined the fold, too, while the British aristocracy is represented by Natalia Vodianova’s husband Justin Portman and Jasset Ormsby Gore, son of Amanda Harlech.
The campaign has been shot by Mario Testino who revealed that the images were inspired by Cecil Beaton, the society photographer who famously captured the artists, rock stars and royalty of his time.
“We agreed the look we wanted to achieve was a mix of Beaton imagery and the 60s feeling in London, reinterpreted with the people and the vigour of today. It’s the new swinging London,” Testino said.
“At the show I found myself surrounded by mirrored check wallpaper. I immediately realised that Burberry has reached another stage in its history. Christopher Bailey has taken Burberry into a very modern dimension. It was crucial that the advertising campaign expressed this new energy.
I like the new ad campaign, hip but nothing ground breaking. What do you think?
