Sometimes in life you just have to kick off your heels and dance in the rain. Last week I did just that, I didn’t dance in the rain but I danced beside a fountain in Sydney’s Hyde Park on a really windy day. With party season almost upon us, I always feel like my wardrobe is stretched thin at this time of year with events, launches and just general socialising with friends. But that is where the beauty of online shopping comes into play, with enough planning, you can drive delivery couriers crazy because they constantly have to come by your house or office to deliver packages.
I went shopping at Farfetch the other week, looking for mix and match pieces that I can wear a few times over this party season. After saving about 300 items to my Farfetch wishlist (think half a dozen $4000 handbags and a few pairs of $1,500 Jimmy Choos), I got serious. What my wardrobe needed was separates I could dress up or down for day and night looks, so after looking at dozens of amazing printed skirts, trousers and culottes, I settled on this Rag & Bone Regina Skirt, the colour blocking was not only flattering with the black up the top, but the beautiful wool fabric gave no VPL and meant that the skirt wouldn’t be covered in wrinkles by the end of the day. Definite plus when you’re on the go from morning to night.
Running with the colour blocking scheme, I also decided to invest in a Givenchy clutch in beautiful tan with a black elastic band across the front. With two pockets and plenty of room for party essentials, it was a perfect neutral edition to my wardrobe. So perfect that the tan sold out, but you can still buy the black version on Farfetch which is just as beautiful.
To keep things simple I paired the skirt with a simple white t-shirt from T by Alexander Wang, knotted at the front to create a casual and less structured look. The skirt would have also looked great with a black cropped top or a loose knit for cooler weather, so versatile, it will be in my wardrobe year round.
Mix and match the Rag & Bone Regina skirt
How we wore the Rag & Bone Regina skirt on the right, with the addition of Alexander Wang Mathilde sandals. Another way we would wear the skirt would be to team it with the Skinbiquini Off Shoulder Cropped Top, Jimmy Choo Rogue Boots and the Givenchy clutch in black.
