I am one of those people who’s birthday lie a little too close for comfort to Christmas. While there are some downsides to that, I prefer to look at the bright side – that in theory you get two presents because people spend twice what they usually would spend on you if they combine gifts (though that doesn’t always happen). So around this time of year I get bombarded with questions of “what do you want for your birthday and Christmas?”
My answer is often “nothing”, because while I want a lot of things, I need very little. So in truth I have been answering the question wrong for years, but everything I want is always just a little out of everyone’s price range, or I want for the things money can’t buy, like happiness for myself and loved ones, financial security (and frivolity) for the aforementioned people or to be able to travel as often as I pleased with friends and stay at nice hotels and resorts.
So when Farfetch asked me to put together a moodboard/wishlist post, it got me thinking…. What do I want for my birthday and Christmas? Realistically, I’d like a tub of Messina’s Palova flavoured gelato in my freezer that never runs out and just a few pretty things to get me through party season….
- Instead of a party dress, give me these gorgeous M Missoni wide legged trousers, perfect to mix and match with a casual white t-shirt, blouse or an off the shoulder crop top.
- A gorgeous new Chloe Elle handbag to tote around essentials for party hopping, from makeup, money, phones and even a spare pair of foldable flats for later in the evening.
- For some added sparkle (after all it is holiday season) we love these beautiful gold Chloe Delphine earrings for an elegant touch.
- And a Parfums de Marly Oriental Cinnamon scented candle to help you relax before and after the festivities. After all it is a crazy party season.
Why shop at Farfetch this season? After spending hours trawling through their site and visiting hundreds of pages, I love that they are connecting over 300 boutiques from around the world on one site, with the one $10 delivery fee to Australia. That way we’re not restricted by buyers who are buying for their particular customer and can shop from a boutique in Italy, Denmark and Paris all in one cart. Amazing.
