Karl Lagerfeld seems to be clocking a designer collaboration every season, for spring/summer 2011 he has teamed up with Hogan to design a collection and then for fall/winter 2011 he’s designing a womenswear collection for Macy’s. It’s part of a new designer initiative from the American store that will see designers create a capsule collection for the store’s Impulse department – we’re guessing it is much along the lines of Target’s Go International scheme. Lagerfeld will follow a spring/summer 2011 collection designed by Kinder Aggugini.
“Karl Lagerfeld holds a unique place in the world of fashion, an icon who is the ultimate modernist,” Chairman, President and CEO of Macy’s Terry J. Lundgren told WWD. “Through the decades, his style and vision have marked the history of design. It is a tremendous honor to bring his inimitable perspective to our fashion customer.”
The collection is set to hit 250 Macy’s stores around America as well as retail online Macys.com in September 2011. This isn’t Lagerfeld’s first high street collaboration, he designed a line for H&M in 2004.
Are you looking forward to seeing the collection?
