Fashion and statement style, two things I had to explain to a friend recently before Australian Fashion Week last month. For me, where my style is classic and minimal, statement style is buying classic pieces with a twist, or accenting your outfit with one or two pieces that are bold and/or catch the eye.
My current wardrobe can be described as classic-fashion, so classic pieces that have a modern twist. So I have a wardrobe full of shirts, which I mostly wear cuffed and are white with a twist (either a stripe, feature sheer panels and etc), jeans (slim cut in grey, black, medium denim and then distressed options for the above colours) and black pumps. Two of my essential pieces are these Polo Ralph Lauren Distressed Boyfriend Jeans and Equipment Signature Shirt from Farfetch.
So how do you make a statement when your wardrobe is pretty simple? With accessories of course. Accessories like a great pair of sunglasses, fashion it bag and jewellery can make an outfit pop that little bit more.

I was out with a friend the other day and spotted about 5 girls with the Furla Metropolis bag strapped around their body. Which is fair enough, a statement mini bag is the must-have accessory right now and the Metropolis is a great classic style with an affordable price tag. We couldn’t choose between the regular sized Metropolis and the mini, so we got them both.
