Australian fashion designer Alex Perry knows how to hit the headlines during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia – by enlisting a Victoria’s Secret Angel called Alessandra Ambrossio to walk in your fashion show in Sydney’s Carriageworks this morning.
It’s not the first time Perry has had a Victoria’s Secret Angel walk for him, with former Angel Miranda Kerr having previously walked in his shows. But the news of Perry’s coup was kept silent up until this morning when Ambrossio made a slew of press appearances before opening and closing Perry’s S/S 2014 collection.
Taking notes from his last spring/summer collection, Perry showed a collection that featured an array of colour blocking through bold solid colours to sheer lace panels. Dresses were mini or slit well up the thigh, but there was nary a Grecian gown (Perry’s most popular and renowned design) insight. Instead after a slew of body con mini dresses followed by flirty little cocktail dressed in lace and covered in embellishment.
