As far as fashion designers go, Yves Saint Laurent has also been an illusive designer who has never really craved the limelight like some of his counterparts. So when news that Jalil Lespert was set to do a biopic about the Frenchman at the beginning of his career in 1958, we were already clapping our hands with glee.
Here is the first look at the film, where French actor Pierre Niney portrays a young Yves and Guillaume Gallienne as his business partner and lover, Pierre Berge. With the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Christian Dior and Loulou de la Falaise set to feature as characters in the film itself, it’s definitely a movie to add to the to-watch list for 2014.
