BY ZUMBA
There is no denying it, summer is coming and we’ve been on the lookout for a fun but calorie burning workout. So when Zumba contacted us to take part in their Zumba 30 Day Challenge at Fitness First St Leonards with star Zumba instructor Kathy ‘Bananas’ and our friend Tash from Breakfast with Audrey, we jumped at the opportunity to jump around like a goofball and work on our non-existent dancing skills.
Our first class was an intense introduction to the workout craze that has swept the world – Kathy told us later that you can burn anywhere from 600 – 1,000 calories per class (!) – and with sexy salsa dance steps we didn’t feel like we were being put through the same torture as a rowing machine at the gym would be doing. Instead we were giggling with Kathy and Tash while mistiming every other step.
But Kathy assure me that: “Zumba is not just for dancers, it’s absolutely for everybody. You don’t have to come from a background where you might want to be on So You Think You Can Dance. With each class you will find that it get easier, the more you come, the better you get at it. You feel more confident because you get better at it and you’re able to let loose and enjoy it more.”
Good to know!
Watch the video from Day 1 of our Zumba adventure below and stay tuned for more updates on our progress next week.

That looks like so much fun, who knew a Zumba class could burn that many calories! Good luck with the challenge, I look forward to reading your next post about it.
Looking good ladies!
I’ve always wanted to do Zumba but it looked so hard and full on in the TV commercials. This makes it look fun and do-able.
Wow! Zumbo looks amazing – trying it asap!
Great Vid! I have always wanted to give Zumba a go and Kathy seems awesome.. I will definitely be checking this out!

I have to admit that I’ve always thought the Zumba infomercials were a little cheesy, but I really like how you guys portrayed it! I may actually get some friends to join me in a class now.
It looks like a lot of fun! Never knew it could give you a full body workout!
