Who hasn’t wished upon a star – either recently or when you were a child wondering when you were going to grow up and life was going to be wonderful? In celebration of their second collaboration with Make-A-Wish Australia, Australian cult fashion brand sass & bide has created a limited edition necklace – aptly lariat necklaces in a star shape – that goes on sale today.
Aiming to raise funds and awareness for the charity which helps grant wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions, sass & bide will be donating all sales proceeds to Make A Wish. To raise awareness, the fashion label are encouraging everyone to spread the word by snapping themselves wearing the necklace & uploading to their own Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Vine, Google Plus, Pinterest and any other social media account, tagging all their photos with the hashtag #wishuponastar.
The star shape is iconic to not only Make A Wish but for sass & bide, with the star is a symbol of creative duo Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton’s friendship, inspired by a tattoo which both designers share.
“We were overwhelmed with the success of the first necklace and felt we wanted to continue supporting this great initiative,” said Sara-Jane Clarke. “Hearing first hand of the children’s wonderful wish experiences inspired us to design the lariat star.”
“The success of the sass & bide wish upon a star campaign last year meant more seriously-ill children across the country got to experience the life-changing power of a Make-A-Wish wish,” added Kellie Johnston, General Manager Marketing, Fundraising & Communications at Make-A-Wish Australia. “Our wishes have been found to make a positive and lasting difference to these children and their families, so we are thrilled to again be involved with sass & bide and this wonderful initiative. With hundreds of children currently waiting for their wish to be granted, funds are critical,’ she said.
The sass & bide Wish Upon a Star necklace is available in both silver & gold and is currently retailing at www.sassandbide.com, sass & bide boutiques nationally andsass & bide at MYER boutiques nationally.
