Youthful and fun, that was something I always liked about Grazia magazine (when I was an avid reader of the British version that is). It was sad to see Grazia Australia shut down recently, but all was not lost thanks to their runway show at L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. It was a celebration of some of Australia’s coolest fashion designers as well as a magazine that once was a weekly staple for fashionistas around the country.
It was a fashionable celebration of strong statements looks – we loved Yeojin Bae’s J’amie head to toe red looks – and youthful prints of the graphic and water colour variety by the likes of Ginger & Smart, Alice McCall, Michael Lo Sordo and Life With Bird. A smile did come to our faces when we realised that sisters Alice and Bridget McCall (of Life With Bird) were sharing a runway together for what could possibly be the first time, both show casing their fashion design talents – they both sure can create a lust worthy print or two. A touch of rocker edge was brought to the runway by Ksubi, who sent down edgy denim looks and a leather body suit which certainly caught our eye.
A bright and fun runway, it definitely showed off the fashion talents of a Grazia Australia fashion team.
