It almost seems like an oversight – the fact that Versace doesn’t have an underwear or a swimwear line. How could it be that the queen of showing off skin didn’t have a line that is all about covering up what is needed, and only that? That will all be rectified when Donatella Versace launches Versace Underwear and Versace Beachwear collections for men and women with her spring/summer 2013 collection in January 2013 however.
“I am thrilled to be offering Versace Underwear and Versace Beachwear as complete collections,” says Donatella Versace. “Both are unmistakably Versace and are designed for women and men who want to look and feel bold and sexy.”
In typical Versace fashion, both underwear and swimwear collections feature the iconic Medusa logo and the Italian fashion houses signature prints in the designs.
The packaging for Versace Underwear was art directed by Giovanni Bianco and features photography by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott. Models Candice Swanepoel and Ryan Barrett were selected as the respective faces of the inaugural Versace Underwear women’s and men’s packaging.
Versace Underwear and Versace Beachwear will be available in Versace boutiques and specialty stores worldwide from January 2013. We’re kind of partial to the mens swimming trunks in the photo below, we think we need to add that to our 2013 shopping list.
