This year marks Kookai’s 20th year in Australia, growing from a boutique on trendy Chapel Street in Melbourne to 26 boutiques nationwide. To mark the milestone, Kookai have unveiled a Spring/Summer 2012 ad campaign starring Australian models Nicole Trunfio and Illona Novacek.
Shot in exotic Marrakech by James Meakin, the ad campaign sizzles with vibrant colour with the ancient city providing the perfect backdrop for the campaign. The amazing colours and architecture of Morocco compliments the stunning collection, a thought that Trunfio couldn’t help but agree with.
“I am absolutely loving the collection, it has always been a go-to store for me since I was a little girl,” Trunfio said in the release. “I was blown away by the colours and quality of the fabrics in this collection. I am all about fashion and comfort. The way the clothes look and feel is perfect, the new swimwear collection fits like a dream and holds everything in the right place!”
With Spring just around the corner in Australia, the campaign drops at just the right time as thoughts of summer holidays are all that is entertaining us this winter. What better than dream of a holiday to Marrakech to explore the Souks and walk around the famous city walls, in Kookai’s new collection of striking maxi dresses, chic jumpsuits and sultry mini dresses of course.
“I have been to Morocco a few times,” Trunfio commented. “I will continue to come here for the rest of my life, it is one of my favorite destinations in the world. When I found out the shoot was here I was over the moon.”
We can’t wait to see more photos of Kookai’s new Spring/Summer 2012 collection, especially with the news that they will be launching a shoe collection as well as an Australian online store. There is so much on the cards for this French brand with a long Australian history, we expect their 20th year to be their biggest yet.
