Sportsgirl‘s shop windows have gone 3D thanks to the artistry of Mat Maitland, who’s claim to fame (besides being a fantastic artist) is his album artwork for the likes of Basement Jaxx, Beck and Goldfrapp. It’s no surprise that there are constant parallels drawn between fashion and music, and this is a perfect example of the two coming together perfectly.
Maitland has created four exclusive Sportsgirl designs which follow his signature collage style and features a mix of Sportsgirl products, graphic elements and patterns. In an added twist, some of the flagship Sportsgirl stores will feature window displays that are 3D (pictured below) with complimentary 3D glasses available outside these locations.
The Mat Maitland store windows for Sportsgirl will run nationwide for 6 weeks, from June to July. With the London 2012 Olympic games just weeks away from kick off, this burst of Brit-pop is just the kind of pick-me-up that puts us in the mood to shop.
