When one of biggest names in fashion collaborates with one of the biggest names in cosmetics, the big winner will be the consumer this Christmas.
There’s a little known fact about Karl Lagerfeld – for two decades one of fashions greatest names has been illustrating his fashion sketches using shu uemura eye shadows. Known for their incredible pigment and creamy texture, Lagerfeld says “I design with she uemura make-up because other manufacturers do not offer such beautiful colors.”
With Lagerfeld’s 20 year passion for the brand, a beautiful collaboration has been born between the two men who bonded over their passion for furthering artistic endeavours, merging Lagerfeld’s penchant for femininity with shu uemura’s passion for colour. Lagerfeld has created an entire collection, reported to be 17 pieces – color selection and packaging is entirely designed by Lagerfeld, and he also photographer this visual campaign. No cosmetics collaboration in recent years has involved such a high level of involvement from the celebrity collaborator, but Uncle Karl is more than your average A-list name.
The Karl Lagerfeld for she uemura collection is due to be launched in November 2012. While no official pictures have been released of the packaging, the branding and accompanying press details are black, white, and a rich burnt red. Exciting times ahead.
