Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2012 saw Ginger and Smart celebrating their 10 year anniversary, and there were many interesting things about the show. We were quite intrigued by the models’ hair, which was a futuristic take on the iconic 90s mohawk, created by the geniuses at ghd.
Collaborating with the Smart sisters, Director of ghd, Alan White, said they aimed to create a modern-look mohawk, which had slick and tight sides and flashes of colour throughout.
“The key element to this look is the adding of colour to the hair either by dye, clip in extensions or coloured hair spray to add some excitement to this sweet, soft punk look,” White said.
Meanwhile, the Ginger and Smart girls were thrilled to be working with White and ghd again, saying that his vision suited their futuristic Neonature show.
It’s definitely a look for those wanting to be risk-takers with their hair!
