As The Cut reported yesterday, John Galliano is indeed at his trial in Paris for public insults – and GQ’s Michael Hainey are inside and tweeting live from the court room as we speak.
According to the tweets, the official charges are that Galliano has 1’01mg of alcohol in his system and the threats lasted 45 minutes.
After the charges were read Galliano is questioned by the judge about his recollection of saying the words he is accused of saying, and he says that he has no recollection and that his is a recovering addict. According to Galliano his father’s death and that of a friend name Stephen affected him, and he turned to sleeping pills.
