Known as Australian fashion designer wunderkind, his collections are eagerly anticipated every season since his debut by fans and fashion editors alike. Though with his price points pointing to the slightly more luxurious end of the market, Dion Lee‘s beautifully tailored designs have always been slightly out of reach for those without daddy’s credit card or a big pay check. Until now that is. Dion Lee has collaborated with Cue, and Australian retail brand known for their fashionable work wear (thanks to their revamp about 5 years ago in the style of Prada or Miu Miu) .
And boy do they make a beautiful team. Lee has added his pinpoint perfectionist tailoring to classic wardrobe pieces like the little black dress, trench coats, blazers and skirts and created statement pieces for the work place.
Lee told Pedestrian that: “I guess what differentiates this collection from my own is that there is a slight sense of a formality and evening in the way I design my collection.”
The Dion Lee for Cue collaboration will have three drops, the first in store today, followed by April that tells a tailoring story and then May which will include leather pieces. Oh and the price range starts at a very affordable AUD$99.00 to $650.
“We have been approached by other designers interested in the opportunity of working on a collaboration in the past but it never felt right”, Cue said in a release. “There was an immediate sense of excitement about the opportunity of working with someone as talented and as committed to design as Dion is. Dion has a wonderful approach to design, he has a lot of respect for women and that shows in his work. This project continues Cue’s commitment to making aspirational design accessible.”
