Last night we attended Sportgirl‘s Nation Winter Parade in Sydney – it’s basically a runway show for staff (who attended an awards ceremony before hand to celebrate achievements in the past 6 months) – and we found out a very exciting piece of gossip. London-based, Australian-raised fashion design Richard Nicoll has been lined up by the popular fashion chain as the next designer to create a capsule collection for their Sportsgirls Like collections.
Known overseas for his beautiful tailoring, his work with Cerruti and spring/summer 2011 capsule collection for Fred Perry, Nicoll isn’t as well known in Australia as he is in Europe as he doesn’t show his collections down under (though there were reports that he was due to show at Australian Fashion Week in 2008).
We can’t wait to see what Nicoll has in store for us at Sportsgirl, after all he’s no stranger to a high street collaboration having created capsule collections for Topshop in the past. The collection is set to drop around late March 2011.
