Late last year, online luxury boutique LusiaViaRoma emailed us and asked if I would be interested in visiting Florence, Italy to take part in their second ever Firenze4Ever Blogger Event? Of course! Who would say no to a trip to one of the most beautiful cities in Italy to see the spring/summer 2011 in person, as well as works of art like Michelangelo’s David and Botticelli’s Venus and amazing architecture on the Duomo. Not to mention the likes of Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Emilo Pucci, Roberto Cavalli and Patrizia Pepe built their fashion empires in Florence.
By the time you read this, I will be on an Emirates A380 to Florence via Dubai and Rome, a journey that is no less than 16,415 km / 10,200 miles from Sydney Australia. We’re arriving a few days before the Firenze4Ever festivities start to pop over to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa and do some shopping. I can’t wait to see the hotel we’ve booked that is right next to the Duomo.
In the meantime, check out this video of the headquarters of Salvatore Ferragamo, complete with a shoe museum of course.
