Australia is often tied to the surf and outdoors, so it comes as no surprise that most top Australian models have snagged modeling gigs with swimwear brands – most recently Jessica Hart, Catherine McNeil & Miranda Kerr for Seafolly and Alexandra Agoston O’Connor for Roxy. Now 23 year-old Elyse Taylor can be added to that list as her ad campaign for O’Neill Girls surfwear was unveiled suring Miami Swim Fashion Week, along with news that she will also unveil an exclusive swimwear collection called Elyse Taylor for O’Neill in 2011.
“I’ve always been a huge fan of O’Neill and am excited to be working with the company on various projects for 2011,” said Taylor in a release. “Growing up along the coast, the water and the beach were always part of my life, so it’s great to work with a brand that represents so many of my passions. I’m really looking forward to collaborating with the design teams, drawing inspiration from O’Neill’s California roots and my own experiences travelling around the world.”
No stranger to stripping down, Taylor’s resume also includes strutting her stuff at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last year and appearing in Billabong’s ad campaign. Though she’s probably be known for her work with youth fashion brand Kensie.
The Elyse Taylor for O’Neill collection is set to draw inspirations from 1970’s retro surf styling with indie culture and ethnic influences.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with someone as talented, creative and down to earth as Elyse,” said Cedar Carter, Marketing Director for O’Neill Girls. “She’s a laid back beach girl who also has a lot of energy and style. She not only embodies the O’Neill Girls lifestyle, but also loves fashion and design, and has walked the runways for many of our girls’ favorite brands. She is a wonderful addition to our team.”
The O’Neill Spring 2011 campaign starring Elyse Taylor was shot in the Virgin Islands by Kyle Alexander.
