With one of the freshest show locations in town, Camilla and Marc took us on a sophisticated global journey that was their summer 2010/11 collection full of refined tailoring and fluidity. Without pulling any tricks, the brother and sister design duo bought us a collection of beautiful dresses, colourful tweed pieces and my personal favourite – the flowing draped dresses, coats and jumpsuits.
With a colour palette of pastels and clean white shades, it provided a fresh youthful look that we all crave – a far cry from their body-con party-girl looks of last season. We love the sophisticated casual feel of their jumpsuits, were undecided about the tortorise shell prints (only because I don’t wear much print) but what took our breath away was the addition of jewelry and handbags to the brand.
As the show description wrote: It was a riot of thick rings, layered necklaces, nose rings and elaborate multi-chained earrings. We wished we had a better photos of the buttery soft leather shoulder bags, totes and clutches in soft leathers that accented the collection nicely. Camilla and Marc never took a misstep – even the turbans paired with the swimwear looked chic!
The eagerly anticipated show did not disappoint and more than 24 hours later is is still one of my personal highlights of the week for their elegant looks and clever styling by Harper’s Bazaar‘s Christine Centenera. Now if only we could put an order in for the fourth look (above) and could bring ourselves to get a nose ring. Luckily for those overseas, Camilla and Marc can count the impossibly amazing Net-A-Porter.com as a stockist. Not bad for one Australia’s premier fashion brands.
On a side note, Camilla and Marc have another Australian-first with their just-launched bespoke Blackberry application – making them the first Australian fashion label to go down the BB app path. Just visit www.camillaandmarc.com/blackberry via your Blackberry or find it in the Blackberry App Store.
I loved these colors and models too. Very romantics and feminine. Beautiful marked silhouette, even with fluid fabrics.
