She designs t-shirts to support the environment and now Vivienne Westwood has announced that she is designing a collection with Lee Jeans in a capsule collection with her Anglomania line for autumn/winter 2010/11. The nine-piece collection will comprise of four styles for men and 5 for woman, complemented by denim shirts and printed t-shirts.
“It is very important for us to work with a denim brand like Lee with such a strong heritage,” Carlo D’Amario, Managing Director of Vivienne Westwood says. “When you marry this with the creativity of Vivienne Westwood, you are able to create a truly original product which offers great value for money.”
The Vivienne Westwood Anglomania for Lee Jeans collection will take its inspiration from the Vivienne Westwood archive of seminal punk and pirate collections from the 1970s and 1980s. While there are the usual suspects we all come to expect from a denim line, we’re looking forward to see this description materialize:
… a range of bright over-dyed denim in electric blue, red, emerald green, camel and white. There is also metallic printed gold and copper denim as well as a ‘trompe l’oeil’ lace all-over print taken from one of Westwood’s couture gowns.
Wow.
Westwood sure knows how to shock and awe and we can’t wait until this collection hits Vivienne Westwood stores and selected retailers worldwide next year. The collection is set to sell from £80 to £200 with more collections in the works for this pairing.
Some looks from this collaboration have hit the runway.
