Screen shot from the Vogue Diaries: The Women of Nine
Photoshop Disasters should really be taking note of everything Annie Leibovitz does with Photoshop, because how did a photoshoot with Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, Penelope Cruz and Kate Hudson go so terribly wrong? The consensus around the web is that the controversial November 2009 Vogue cover probably went through a lot of post-production work, as Annie Leibovitz is known for.
But the four women were present on the day of the photoshoot at Malibu back in February if Vogue’s behind-the-scenes video has anything to say about it.
Like all behind the scenes videos, the women appeared to get along famously, with Hudson and Cruz joking with each other in their trailer. We especially loved when Hudson remarked:
“We are doing this photo shoot which is sort of Fellini-esque (Federico Fellini, Italian Film Director and main character of Nine) according to Annie. We’ll see how Fellini we’ll get on the beach.”
To which Leibovitz added:
“We haven’t done a beach shoot in so long and we’re really taking a chance.”
Boy did they take a big chance by taking the airbrush tool and running with it.
Watch the behind the scenes video below and let us know what you think of the cover shoot now?
Look out for the the group shots where none of the women are wearing the very dresses they are pictured in on the cover.
P.S. You may die a little inside when you see a few pairs of designers heels walking on the sand and getting soaked by the surf.
Yeah I’ve been sitting on this one for a few days for my blog too H, I was totally flabbergasted that they were all there on the beach together that day for the photoshoot.
How did it go so horribly wrong? They literally look like they were all photoshopped in separately. May be she didn’t get a good group shop and that’s what she did do.
I just can’t believe that AW let it through ’cause it looks dreadful.
The designer heels did not deserve this. They were innocent…!
