They dubbed her the voice of a generation but Lily Allen, is fast becoming more than just a singer but a brand to be reckoned with, teaming up with British Elle to celebrate 25 years of London Fashion Week in their October 2009 issue.
Showing off a new platinum blonde look that bears a striking resemblance to a little Debbie Harry, Lily shows off seven exclusive designs by some of London’s hottest fashion designers like Richard Nicholl, Luella Bartley and Giles Deacon with the iconic Rankin photographing the poppet in all her blonde glory.
No stranger to the world of fashion, Lily has designed a collection of dresses for New Look, modeled for Chanel and attended countless fashion shows but perhaps one of her biggest achievements trusting her gut instant when it comes to creating her own look.
“I never plan what I wear, not until about five minutes before I go on [stage]. It is totally about what I’m comfortable in at that moment. That’s why I can’t plan because I don’t know how I’m going to feel,” she tells Elle.
“I have to get to a gig at least an hour and 45 minutes before because I like to get in there, I like to put my music on, I like to do my hair I do my own hair and make-up and choose clothes and do a bit of vocal warm-ups and then go upstairs, peek behind the curtain, get a feel for where it is I am and what kind of people it is I’m performing to, and try and adjust to what they are going to like.
And while she may be spotted holidaying on yachts with Kate Moss, all Lilly wants to do is relax.
“I suppose now I’m thinking about the next step and whether I want to get a place in the country. Actually, I probably should just sit back and relax a bit. I don’t know if I’ll continue with what I do or if I’ll get married and have kids I have no idea what it is that I want.”
British Elle’s October 2009 issue with Lily Allen on the cover hits newsstands on September 2nd 2009 – just two weeks before the start of a very jam packed London Fashion Week!

Hot cover. Usually I’m not the biggest fan of Rankin or Lily but they look good together for Elle.
it’s spelled “Lily”
she looks great as a blonde…
Great cover love it
I think Lily is a fun character to follow, but I think her persona overshadows her music. I might just be out of it, but I don’t know if I can name a single song of hers…
She looks great and the cover is great too!
