We saw the striped top in Coco avant Chanel after Coco (played by Audrey Tatutou) went on a romantic weekend away to the sea, then Claudia Schiffer was photographed in an oversized striped t-shirt with the Chanel logo emblazoned across her chest.
The look was straight out of the 1990s: over sized t-shirt, rolled up sleeves and a major fashion house logo scrawled across the front. But question is, did Claudia draw that Chanel logo on a tshirt herself? It certainly looks hand drawn and we can’t remember seeing that t-shirt on the runway in recent seasons.
If it is, what’s stopping us from DIY’ing it?
For the low price of USD$13.99 and a quick trip to Target, you can buy a striped t-shirt (a few sizes too big) for $6 and a Sharpie permanent marker $7.99 and draw your own Chanel logo (or any logo). Or any designer’s logo for that matter. It’s tough times for a fashionista, so if she must become a ressionista… then so be it.
Mind you, don’t tell Chanel because we’d still prefer the real thing over the hand drawn t-shirt, but if sometime Chanel face and Karl Lagerfed favourite can pull of a hand-drawn look t-shirt, we can’t help but want to try the look too.
I saw the handdrawn Chanel stuff in Waikiki this year. I nearly bought one but i thought people would think i just DIY’ed.
Don’t think Claudia drew that herself, this Tee probably comes from the Spring/Summer 2008 collection, a campaign Claudia was in as well. She looks amazing in the catalog and out of the catalog! She’s the perfect CHANEL woman! Love the movie by the way!
where wud i get this teee online i absolutely love it ???????
