British high-end accessory brand Jimmy Choo have announced that they will design a shoe and bag collection for Swedish high street chain, H&M. The news was announced on H&M’s Twitter just over an hour ago, and we can’t wait till November 14, 2009 – if we can think of a way to get to H&M that is.
“We are privileged to be among the fashion greats who have been affiliated with H&M so far,” Tamara Mellon, Founder and President of Jimmy Choo said. “Jimmy Choo will bring to H&M a sophisticated, fashion forward, accessible and glamorous collection – the perfect party pieces to buy now and then wear out that night!”
The collection will include a Jimmy Choo for H&M women’s clothes as well as men’s shoes, bags and accessories – an exciting new endeavor for the brand who gained a solid female following thanks to the Sarah Jessica Parker led television series, Sex and the City.
Mellon showed off her party pieces with a model and H&M’s creative advisor, Margareta van den Bosch for a series of publicity shots which showcased two pairs of sexy Jimmy Choo for H&M stiletto heels (pictured above).
“I like the way we have worked with clothes to accessorize the shoes and bags rather than the other way around,” said van den Bosch. “This collaboration is particularly exciting because it’s our first shoe designer collection. It’s a joy to be able to offer top end designer shoes and bags of excellent quality to our customers.”
No price ranges have been release yet, but this news follows hot on the heels of the glamorous launch of Matthew Williamson’s collection for H&M in New York recently. Jimmy Choo joins the likes of Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Viktor & Rolf, Madonna, Kylie Minogue and Roberto Cavalli to design a collection for H&M.
