She was the adorable Summer Roberts in The O.C., then she worked with DKNY Jeans to launch a clothing line called Edie Rose, named after her grandmother. Now Rachel Bilson is branching out into magazines and giving fashion advice.
She will join the InStyle staffers with a monthly Q&A column in InStyle magazine.
“The actress will pen a monthly Q&A beginning with the May issue, answering readers’ style questions and revealing some of her favorite trends” according to WWD.
“I am not planning on quitting my day job to be a full-time fashion editor, although I am really enjoying it and it intrigues me very much,” she said. “I’m actually flattered more than anything that people want to ask me questions about style. I am honored to do it.”
In her first column appearing in the May 2009 issue of InStyle, Rachel reveals that she loves Lela Rose for Payless flats, Lanvin sandals and Matta scarves with pompom edges – “a cool alternative to fringe.”

I guess Rachel is cute and all, but she’s gonna have to work hard to prove her chops as a fashion editor. I do like her demure style, but it reamins to be seen whether that’ll translate into actual fashion advice. Maybe I’ll write her a question!
