While I’m recovering from a cough that just won’t go away, the fashion world is zooming past at rapid pace thanks to Fashion Week Month with London Fashion Week in full swing as we speak.
While sparkles seem to be the way to go next spring, at Stella McCartney for Adidas’ spring 2009 presentation, it’s active wear that will have the women actually wanting to get into the outfits to work out.
In a rather energetic presentation, McCartney turned an empty hall into a modern gym, complete with super fit gymnasts wearing her designs. Whether they were balancing on the balance beam, running miles on the treadmill or doing flips and twists on the trampoline, the gymnasts showed off the versatile but fashionable pieces to perfection.
Modern with geometric shapes and leotards with embellished detail, the collection was truly inspired by the Olympics with the presentation topped off by the appearance of Olympic gold medalists, US track star Allyson Felix and British cyclist Victoria Pendleton. With London set to host the 2012 summer Olympics, the launch of this collection was timed to perfection.
Watch the video from the collection above and below where it features a rather un-Olympic event – skipping!
