Gwen Stefani (Finally) Gives Birth? Meanwhile, L.A.M.B. at Fashion Week Looks Doubtful

According to a multitude of conflicting rumors, Gwen Stefani – reigning queen of the fashion/music breeding ground – is on the cusp of welcoming baby #2 into the world. She is currently in labor at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. InTouch reports that she is scheduled to give birth via C-section at 10 a.m. PT. After many false alarms, and having endured what seems like longest pregnancy in human history, Gwen’s long-anticipated delivery date has finally arrived. Congratulations, Gwen!

“Gwen’s so excited to have this baby because she gained a lot of weight during this pregnancy,” a pal reveals to In Touch. “She is ready to meet her new baby and get her body back.”  Considering how quickly she shed the baby weight last time around, we don’t doubt she’ll be looking fit again at jaw-dropping speed!

With Ms. Stefani’s amazing resilience in mind, we can’t help but wonder if we’ll see L.A.M.B. at Mercedes Benz Spring 2009 Fashion Week in NYC.

For Spring 2007‘s proceedings, Gwen forewent the Bryant Park theatrics and sponsored an intimate downtown presentation of the season’s clothing. She’d given birth only months before, and used the downscaled approach to ease her way back into NYC Fashion Week (after February’s absence) and to promote her then-upcoming album, The Sweet Escape. Last fall at Spring 2008 Fashion Week, L.A.M.B.’s triumphant return to the Bryant Park tents inaugurated Gwen’s best attended and reviewed collection yet.

But surely, even Gwen – superwoman though she seems – will not be able to present at the upcoming Fashion Week literally two weeks after giving birth? Though we’ve yet to receive absolute confirmation, it seems that L.A.M.B. will indeed lay fallow this season. A presentation of the line IS NOT mentioned on the official Mercedes Benz Spring 2009 Fashion Week schedule nor is a private presentation listed off-site.

However, we’re happy to report that Sassybella will be heavily involved with New York Fashion Week this year and will be reporting back to you on all the coolest shows, sights, and parties. On our agenda is an exciting visit to L.A.M.B.’s showroom, when we’ll be able to provide you the scoop on the status of one of our favorite lines!
