Saks Fifth Avenue has pulled together quite a team for their 2008 Key to the Cure campaign in Karl Lagerfeld and Gwyneth Paltrow.
The 2008 ambassador, Gwyneth, models the limited edition t-shirt featuring a print designed exclusively by Karl Lagerfeld. The t-shirt will retail for $40 with $35 from each t-shirt sold going to benefit EIF’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund. It will hit Saks stores and online on October 1, in time for Saks’ annual charity shopping weekend on October 16 – 19 where 2% of the sales will go to EIF’s Women’s Cancer Research Fund.
“KEY TO THE CURE is one of Saks Fifth Avenue’s most important initiatives because of the numbers of people within our communities who are affected by cancer and depend on both the advancement of research and the efforts to ultimately find a cure,” said Steve Sadove, Chairman and CEO, Saks Fifth Avenue. “We are so proud to have hosted this shopping weekend for the past nine years and are truly privileged to have the support of Karl Lagerfeld and Gwyneth Paltrow in our momentous 10th anniversary year.”
Paltrow has often supported breast cancer research, especially through her work with Estee Lauder where proceeds from the sale of her Estee Lauder fragrance, Pleasures Gwyneth Paltrow, going towards
“Cancer has been the curse of my family,”she once said. “I am challenging these evil genes by natural means. I am convinced that by eating biological foods it is possible to avoid the growth of tumors. I began this crusade soon after my father’s death. Since then the fight against tumors has been my mission.”
And in case you’re wondering, Mercedes-Benz USA has partnered with Key to the Cure for the sixth year, hence the keys in Gwyneth’s hand.
