Supermodel Stephanie Seymour Bryant has been the face of Victoria’s Secret and is the current spokesperson for French lingerie house, Chantelle, but the new contributing fashion editor for Interview magazine reveals that her real love of lingerie didn’t develop until after her 10 year stint as a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
“In my twenties, I didn’t wear too many bras, or maybe culottes,” she laughed. “I got to appreciate them–their shapes and names and garments–through Azzedine Alaïa.”
“The French really know lingerie, they get it. They understand how a properly fitted, well-designed bra can change your whole shape. A dress that looks blah can be transformed by the right undergarment. ”
It wasn’t until after she finished up with Victoria’s Secret that she discovered her true bra size when in 2000 a friend took her to a lingerie shop to buy a “good and proper bra†because in her twenties she didn’t like them. (Err, what does that say for the brand she fronted first?)
