The 3.1 Phillip Lim fall 2008/09 collection at New York Fashion Week showed how the designer was growing up with pieces that were more sophisticated than previous collections. Known for updating vintage romantic looks, Lim showed a collection that was full of grey pieces, carefully styled with romantic blouses, tuxedo pants, chic cropped coats and pencil skirts.
It wasn’t the most ground breaking collection, but I just fell in love with his final look – the white gown with scallop/bow detail just below the face. There was something utterly romantic about the piece. Add a tiara and one could be a princess in that gown.
