Remember this dress? Kate Moss wore this vintage silk dress to the Golden Age of Couture exhibition at the Victoria and Albert museum last September where it was promptly stood on by Courtney Love leaving a nice tear in the delicate material.
Like a trooper, Kate turned the floor length train into a gorgeous mini dress.
If you want to own your personal part of fashion history (and a piece of Kate Moss’ wardrobe) the dress is currently being auctioned off on eBay by James Brown London (Kate’s hairdresser who cut her fringe) in support of Make Today Count for Cancer Research UK.
“This is a charity very close to my heart. Thank you to all my friends who’ve donated clothes to the James Brown London Collection. Proceeds from the auction of these clothes will go to Cancer Research UK,” says James Brown on the auction page.
Check out the auction here – the Daily Mail reports it is worth £650, but is it worth more since Kate wore it, or less since it has a few rips in it?
If the Kate Moss dress isn’t your thing, choose from a leather jacket donated by David Beckham, a Vivienne Westwood dress worn by Kelly Osbourne, a John Galliano for Dior Haute Couture dress as worn by Dita von Teese or a Marios Schwab dress as donated by Kylie Minogue.
P.S. All the auctions currently don’t seem to post outside of the UK, so keep that in mind before bidding.
So how much did it end up selling for?
