Is there anything Victoria Beckham hasn’t done in the fashion world?
In the space of about 6 months she has appeared in the latest Marc Jacobs advertising campaign, was named as Mr Blackwell’s worst dressed in 2007, styled Jack Nicholson for a fashion shoot, is performing around the world with the Spice Girls and now is set to appear on the cover of British Vogue.
Now the rumour mill has Victoria gracing the cover of the April 2008 edition of British Vogue.
“Victoria’s doing the fashion shoot this week with top photographer Nick Knight who’s shot stars like David Bowie, Kylie Minogue and Kate Moss,” a source tells the Daily Mirror. “The magazine is planning to dedicate 12 pages to her. It’s rare for Vogue to use someone other than a model for the cover, so it’s a real coup for Victoria.”
This will be her first Vogue cover, with reports that the accompanying 6 page spread will be her most risqué yet.
As it is set to be photographed by Nick Knight… perhaps the man himself or someone from his team will blog about it on his SHOWstudio blog.
Oh no. It’s just the validation she craves and what we all cringe at the thought of.
“It’s rare for Vogue to use someone other than a model for the cover” — rare? um i think not? like, off the top of my head… Eva Green in january, Sienna Miller just last december and Keira Knightley last october hello? UK Vogue may not use as many celebs for their cover as their US counterpart does but they use them regularly enough for me to cringe. but then this piece of information comes from Daily Mirror… what can we expect really?
Seems like celebrities are becoming more and more popular for magazine covers. Guess they sell more magazines than a model. I was reading something recently that was saying the days of the “supermodel” are over, partly due to this.
Oh,please. But Why? With all the gorgeous people around the world… Why?
