Like his compatriot, Josh Goot, Australian designer Toni Maticevski didn’t stray from his tried and true style for his spring summer 2008 collection. Which is just as well. The collection was full of beautiful ethereal dresses that floated around the body, each embellished with intricate eyelets and beading.
Recently profiled in US Vogue as “one of the most talked about names in Australian fashion”, Maticevski toyed with tulle, organza and silk like they were cotton. Weaving and accenting their movement to create some amazing gowns.
He also created some great ready-to-wear pieces, from gorgeous embellished cocktail dress, to pant suits and his very own version of the tuxedo dress – which is fast becoming a piece many designers are creating.
Everything seemed to have it’s place in the Maticevski show, but what is with the abstract big blonde bangs?
