Jovovich-Hawk designers Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk are joining the long list of fashion designers to design a diffusion line for US Target.
“Our Target line will have all our classic pieces: smock dresses, tunics, minis, all vintage-inspired, great prints,” Jovovich said in an article in the LA Times. “We took the things that sold the best for us but we’re doing it on a bigger scale. To be able to do it with a big company that can afford to do it for a good price so that real girls can afford it. That’s the reason we were interested.”
This isn’t the first time Milla has done a collection for a chain store, she was recently designed a spring summer 2007 collection for Spanish chain store Mango, and modeled the collection for the advertising campaign.
The Jovovich-Hawk for Target collection is due in US Target stores for Spring 2008, following the Alice Temperley and Patrick Robinson for Target .
Does anyone else get the feeling that the designers chosen to do collaborations with Target is just going down hill? While I don’t mind the Jovovich Hawk clothes, we do have to remember that the Target collections kicked off with the likes of Luella, Proenza Schouler and Paul & Joe.
