The Melanie Cutfield spring summer 2008 collection at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week was romantic. There, I said it in one word. Now can I go get some dinner and go to bed? It’s almost midnight.
Ok that’s an awful thing to say. Melanie’s collection was romantic, where the bottoms were draped, pleated or tucked into place. There was emphasis put on the shoulders, with definition added with ruffles or some more stiff definition with boxy almost sporty shapes.
To finish off the collection, which was done entirely in muted colours like grey, dusty pink and navy, was was wardrobe essential knits that will keep you in good stead for years to come.
Now what I didn’t understand, was why on earth was there tribal music playing when there were beautiful draped gowns parading down the catwalk?
P.S. I loved the hats in the collection, sort of hunter like, but the question is, what material were they made out of? I wish I had pulled out my camera to take a picture.
