After weeks of speculation by many in thee media, Nina Ricci has confirmed that the Belgium designer has come as creative director after Olivier Theyskens was left jobless when Proctor & Gamble closed fashion house, Rochus.
“I am very happy – I feel serene and very good,” said Theyskens, as the announcement from Ricci was prepared. “I am sad because a house with the history of Rochas has closed, but I had prepared myself for some time and Ricci is the option that I preferred.”
Replacing Lars Nilsson at Nina Ricci, Theyskens is already working on his first collection for the design house, and will show his first collection for Nina Ricci on the Autumn shows in March 2007.
Nilsson has managed to escape most of the speculation about what he’s going to be doing post-Nina Ricci, but rumors are circulating that he may join Oscar de la Renta very soon.
