Firstly, for those of you who don’t know, David Jones is one of Australia’s biggest department stores. Stocking international designers from Armani and Prada to Marc Jacobs and Miu Miu, as well as hot Aussie designers from Sass & Bide, Collette Dinnigan, Willow, Alice McCall and Kirrily Johnson. They’re known for throwing quite a party together for their Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer VIP launch collections.
Well this time around they have lured Mischa Barton (pictured left out and about in London) down under for a “shopping trip” as part of a whirlwind visit to attend both the Melbourne and Sydney VIP nights, and she will be “stocking up on the latest from Australian designers,” she told News.com.au.
She follows in the footsteps of Paris Hilton and Eva Longoria, who both did whirlwind visits to Australia, with both of them attending Melbournes Spring Racing Carnival, while Paris also did a bit of modeling at Australian Fashion Week for British born designer, Wayne Cooper.
I wonder what Mischa is doing… besides looking pretty on the red carpet. She has reportedly been paid AUD$100,000 for her appearance (on top of hotel and travel costs ofcourse).
Also I wonder if Megan Gale, David Jones’s “face” will be coming down to share the spotlight with her… last time Megan was trumped by another big name was when she couldn’t make it back to Australia for her twice yearly gig with the department store, and David Jones managed to snag Linda Evangelista as her replacement in 2004.

For Sydney, she is coming on Wednesday 8th August for the night’s spring/summer collection for David Jones as a VIP in front with an audience of over 500. She should be Wharf 8 in the city.

there were HEAPS of people there today, most were turned away without seeing her. the crowd was stretching out onto the street and stopping trams it was insane. i saw her briefly she was cheerful and nice. but god SO many people there all entrances were jammed.

just wanting to let ppls know that i saw mischa barton on the 10th of august at david jones in buorke st mall. it was jam packed 3 whole levels were full of ppl! only 150 ppl got to get autographs from her and most of them were waiting there since 6am! when we were leaving there were police out the front and david jones was closed. Megan gale was also there shes sooo pretty! she went around and hugged ppl and asked questions. mischa told ever1 about her keds and about whos fasion she loved. when i went to the back door of david jones mischa and megan were leaving in mercedes and there was bodyguards everywhere! 1 girl i spoke to sed that she got mischa’s autograph just as she was entering the back door at 1pm and i had to wait three hours just to c her! SOO BUMMED… u were allowed to stand anywhere and take as many photos as u wanted!! it was a great experience love u all candice xx
Thanks for the info. 🙂 See I couldn’t line up for that long….I had a really important test on at school and then we werent allowed to leave school early….haha even if I did leave early there was still no way that I would get an autograph or a pic if I went there late!

hey all of u i just have to say that yesterday was the best day of my whole life. no joke. i was only waiting for half an hour at the entrence where she came in. i was right in the front so i could see perfecly and i got her autograph, pictures and she shook my hand and talked to me very briefly but hey its alot more than some. after she had gone i started hyperventelating i was that excited. i seriously am over the moon. its made my whole year…no my whole centuary. i was standing next to a few bitchy girls who thought they were above it all. they were like swearing at me and saying that i should get over her but they were there for the same reason as me. but honestly nothing could ruin that day. OMG I SAW MICSHA. anyway sorry for the long blog. i wont hate u if u cbf reading it lol bye bloggers

august 11th was the best day ever, i waited at david jones for an hour and a half just standing there with my mates, but it was so worth it cause i saw Misha Barton (OMG). Misha is so pretty and i luv the oc it rox, misha is awesome and i cant belive i got to see her. Yay!
