It seems like a random coincidence, but after missing new episode of Project Runway this ratings season I started watching Project Runway Season 5 again – then a few hours later it was announced that Project Runway has been cleared to air season 6 on the Lifetime channel.
After almost a year of legal disputes, WWD reports that NBC Universal, parent of Project Runway’s former home Bravo, the parties “resolved their disputes” with the The Weinstein Co. to “pay NBCU for the right to move Project Runway to Lifetime.”
So stay close to your TV’s for the premier this northern hemisphere summer – Michael Kors, Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia will be back for another season of designer challenges and crazy characters.
According to the report, Lifetime reportedly paid between $150 million and $200 million for “Project Runway” for a five-year deal – which means Project Runway should run until season 10, or 2013 if one season is aired per year.
By then where will the likes of Christian Siriano and Austin Scarlett be America’s next top designer?
[Updated] Season 6 of Project Runway will air on Lifetime from August 20, 2009.
The wait is almost over, preview the Project Runway 6 designers!
This great news. I need my Project Runway fix, and what better place to catch it than on Lifetime? I think I’ll rewatch Season 4 right now in anticipation.
I have never heard of Lifetime and I have cable tv. I dont even think Comcast offers Lifetim. What a Joke for me. I like the show but Lifetime channel? Is that a 200 # channel?
Bruce, I have comcast too and here it’s a channel in the 40s…you should get it! It’s the one with all the cheesy “lifetime original movies” haha GREAT NEWSSSS!!!!!
Bruce, it depends on where you live and get comcast. Here it’s in the 60’s…right around food network and oxygen. There’s another one in the 100’s, but it’s the same thing just on a diff channel.
I’m so excited about this finally going on tv!
when will it be airing? i can’t find any info on time and day.
Hi Melissa,
The official air date has been announced. It will screen on Lifetime from August 20, 2009.
